FUJINOMIYA TRAIL INFORMATION
The Fujinomiya trail is the shortest and most direct route to the summit of Mt. Fuji, making it a popular choice for climbers who want to reach the top with the least amount of distance. The trail starts on the south side of Mt. Fuji in Shizuoka Prefecture at the highest elevation of any Mt. Fuji trail head, beginning at 2,400m.
The Fujinomiya trail is a great choice if you are traveling to Kyoto or Osaka before or after your climb, as it is the closest and most easily accessed trail from the Kansai region.
While it can be slightly busier than the Subashiri or Gotemba trails, the Fujinomiya trail is an excellent option for climbers looking for the most efficient route to the summit and crater rim of Mt. Fuji.
AccessSee the Google Maps link to the Fujinomiya trail head here. Note that driving up to the Fujinomiya 5th station in private vehicles is prohibited during the entire climbing season from July 10-September 10. If you're driving your own vehicle, you will need to use the parking lot here and take one of the shuttle buses up to the Fujinomiya 5th Station.
There are also public buses that go up to the Fujinomiya 5th station departing from Shin Fuji station (bullet train access) and Fujinomiya train station. The public bus will only run during the climbing season from July 10-September 10. |
